TOLERANCE OF AMBIGUITY

It will be sinful to take tolerance of ambiguity to the realm of unrighteousness. The culture of many churches has changed tremendously. The decadence has reached a frightening proportion. Rather than celebrate Christ and execute programs of evangelism, many churches and some church leaders now inundate and overwhelm their congregation with financial burden.

It is very common these days to see many leaders manifest clever devises and well orchestrated manipulations that rob congregations of their hard earned income, to satisfy their gluttonous desires. We take tolerance of ambiguity to an unacceptable, nay unrighteous limit when law of obedience is camouflaged to subjugate freewheel offering to a culture of extortion through blackmail.

We hear of outrageous instances when some leaders command honorarium of $20,000.00 (N4m) for a two-day teaching engagement, not by invitation, but by imposition, on a couple of struggling parishes. Did they author the bible one will quest, or were they the ones nailed to the cross? Even the thief nailed on the cross to the right hand side of Christ saw the need for repentance. Should less be expected of the ones that teach the gospel?

THE VERDICT

Weary not yourself to be rich; cease from your own [human] wisdom. Will you set your eyes upon wealth, when [suddenly] it is gone? For riches certainly make themselves wings, like an eagle that flies toward the heavens. (Proverbs 23:4-5)
