Legalism is not a leadership tenet as it does not necessarily make things better. It only reinforces the entrenchment and maintenance of the status quo, a management bigotry that subjects the majority to the perpetual control of a privileged few. Christ describes the few as, "rulers of synagogue!"
Jesus hates legalism as seen in Matthew 23:1-4. "Then Jesus said to the crowds and to his disciples, 'The scribes and the Pharisees sit on Moses' seat, so practice and observe whatever they tell you—but not what they do. For they preach, but do not practice. They tie up heavy burdens, hard to bear, and lay them on people's shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to move them with their finger.' " Love obviously nullifies legalism from the perspective of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.
"For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments, and His commandments are not burdensome" (1 John 5:3)
PRAYER POINT
May the spirit of authentic love of Christ overcome demagogic spirits in the Kingdom of God, amen.
